Sony PMW-EX3 Full HD solid state camcorder

The PMW-EX3 is the big brother of the superb EX1.  It features the same full HD 1/2″ CMOS image sensors and 35Mbps XDCAM EX recording but re-packaged into a larger chassis featuring a superb colour LCD monocular viewfinder, ergonomic shoulder brace and interchangeable EX lens mount.

Even though it’s not a full size shoulder-mount camcorder, the PMW-EX3′s innovative shoulder-brace design means that it is far more stable for handheld shooting.

It shoots 1080i or 1080P. And can film at 60fps for slow motion. It is suitable for documentary and low-budget fiction.

Exmor Super35 CMOS image sensor

The PMW-F3K is equipped with a Super 35mm sensor which is the same size as Super 35mm film and has been specifically developed for digital cinematography. Its positioning within the chassis is exactly the same as it would be within a 35mm film camera ensuring exactly the same optical performance with the unrivalled range of 35mm Cine lenses.

Sony LM9050 HD Monitor with V-lock batteries. This is the best lightweight battery powered HD monitor. It has Composite, Component and HD-SDI Out and In. It also makes a neat portable grade 1 grading monitor to check interlacing before final export from FCP.

The Z1 shoots miniDV, DVCAM and HDV at 1080i. It is the industry standard for low budget docs and promos.
